Mark has over a quarter of a century experience in journalism and communications. 

 

He has advised world leaders including former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the former President of the UN General Assembly Maria Fernanda Espinosa, and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown in his capacity as UN special Envoy for Global Education. He established Al Jazeera TV in North America, serving as the network’s first UN & New York Bureau Chief, and has written regularly for The Guardian, The Independent, Evening Standard, and New Statesman amongst other publications. 


Mark was a Visiting Professor at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University and is currently Director of the Centre for UN Studies at the University of Buckingham.
